This is 49

Today is my 49th birthday.

I don't have anything really insightful to say about this particular birthday, although I am going to admit to feeling kinda surprised I made it this far. And in the spirit of vaguebooking I'm just going to say, #iykyk.

Approaching a milestone birthday is always a bit weird, and I'm just this much closer to that next milestone. And I'm doing it mostly alone, as it's a Sunday and my former spouse has custody of the kid on the weekends.

I bought myself a washer and a dryer last Monday that got delivered this morning, so that was a nice birthday gift to myself.

I'm going to make myself gluten free chocolate cupcakes with butter cream frosting here in a bit. And later, my former spouse and kid are going to take me to dinner to celebrate. It's nice, but like I said, it's a bit weird too. Glad he and I can be friends.

So not a very pottery related post today, but something I felt worth marking anyway. I'm very lucky to be the recipient of so many well wishes and blessings from near and far. Invitations to future dinners, which I am absolutely going to accept.
